Sock it to Cancer!

Cancer is a horrifying illness. Our PAN family knows the struggle as we experienced it with our Bobbie Jo Cauffman Rumfelt, who fought hard, but succumbed to cancer on October 19th 2014. But, we also know how much http://sockittocancer.net and our community helped Bobbie Jo. In honor of her fight, and in remembrance of her, we are now dedicating a portion of the sock sales to another cherished member of our community.

Gracelyn SnyderGracelyn Snyder was born April 9, 2015, to Jason and Karen Snyder of Millerstown, PA. She seemed to be a happy, healthy baby, but at her four months check-up, her doctors detected an enlarged spleen; and her ultra sounds and blood work showed signs of leukemia.

Gracelyn was rushed to Hershey's Children's Hospital, where, after a long week, she was diagnosed with AML leukemia and she started chemotherapy. But very sadly, results from a genetic test taken in August came back just a few days later, and her diagnosis was confirmed as the very rare JMML leukemia, which does not respond to chemotherapy.

So now, the next battles in Gracelyn's war against cancer are finding a matching donor and having a bone marrow transplant. This is a nerve wracking but hopefully lifesaving process. Please keep Gracelyn, her mom and dad in your thoughts and prayers as they take on the fight for her life!

Want to help in this fight? You can do it through PAN'S http://sockittocancer.net website page where you can make a direct, tax deductible contribution through Greenwood FFA Alumni Association c/o Krista Pontius, Greenwood High School, 405 East Sunbury St. Millerstown, PA 17062.

Or you can buy a pair of Bobbie's socks! 10% of sock sales proceeds will go directly to Gracelyn's parents, and you get a pair socks that make you smile every time you put them on and remind you to send healing thoughts to this beautiful baby girl!
